Initial work on 'Bann' started in the Autumn of 1993. The deaths of three Coleraine men while water-fowling on the River Bann would be the inspiration of this work regarding the hidden humanity of Northern Ireland suspiciously missing in the International media narrative of correspondence of The Troubles.
Danced by three men and three women surrounded by a forty voice choir need to perform Tallis' spem in alium, the development of this project would hit both financial and logistic snags due to the complexity and scale of the work. In the mid 1990s the technical requirements for the integrated filmed dance sections and the need to flood the stage with 30 cms of water would become an obstacle in finding appropriate venues.
To date this project has not been fully realized.
